In the morning when we rose
The boys woke up too late
The girls were all on time
And for the metro we did wait
Headed to Mt. Vernon
A cruise ship we did take
Along the blue Potomac
A mighty river, not a lake
To see the one and only
George Washington’s quarters
A tour of this we took
And obeyed Anderson’s orders…. “no touching ” =)
To see the 21 room house
And its intricate design
Walking here and there
Longing for a recline
Back to our dear metro
To see more history
Korea, WWII, Vietnam
And Lincoln we did see
Finishing with dinner
And worship in the room
Now time to go to sleep
It ended all too soon
